What the MCX Gold and Silver Prices Mean

The September 21 movement shows that both precious-metal futures started the week lower in domestic and international markets. MCX gold and silver prices are quoted in different units from Comex contracts: MCX gold is quoted in rupees per 10 grams and MCX silver in rupees per kg, while Comex prices are quoted in US dollars per ounce.

The prices reported above are futures-market prices at the specific time mentioned in the source report and should not be treated as the final retail price available at a jewellery store.

Investors and traders tracking bullion prices should also understand that futures prices are not the same as physical-market rates. The exchange provides separate market-data sections for its commodities and publishes contract-related information through its official platform.

For consumers planning to buy jewellery, the actual amount payable can vary from the quoted commodity futures price because retail pricing involves factors beyond the futures contract.
