MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max is the first device to be announced from MediaTek’s new Dimensity Compute Experiences or CX family for personal computing. The company has designed the processor for a new generation of AI-first laptops and Googlebook devices. It brings 11 core GPU and dedicated NPU along with an all-big-core CPU and power-efficient architecture that is geared towards thin, low-profile devices that do not require a fan.

MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max Built on 3nm Process

MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max is manufactured with a high-end 3nm process technology. The CPU adopts an all-big-core design, featuring eight cores including one Arm Cortex-X925 core, three Arm Cortex-X4 cores and four Arm Cortex-A720 cores. The CPU’s clock speed is up to 3.73GHz.

The processor also has 12MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system-level cache. It can support LPDDR5X up to 9,600Mbps and UFS 4.0 storage. It’s a mix that is optimized for multitasking and productivity loads, while keeping power usage efficient.

55 TOPS NPU for On-device AI

A key highlight of the MediaTek Dimensity FX C10 Max is its AI processing capabilities. The chip features MediaTek’s NPU 890 that offers up to 55 TOPS of AI capability. The NPU has been optimized for on-device performance of generative AI and agentic AI workloads.

MediaTek’s platform will be used to bring Gemini Intelligence features to future Googlebook devices, the company says. Local AI processing can be used for functions like real-time agent workflows, live transcription and summarisation, without being solely reliant on cloud processing. AI support is also built in to always be on, yet still power efficient.

The chipset supports 11-Core GPU for graphics and multimedia

MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max comes with the MediaTek’s 11-core Arm Immortalis-G925 MC11 GPU. The GPU is optimized for high graphics workloads, multimedia applications and better graphics performance.

It can feed up to two external 4K displays via the supported connectivity and has a high-speed refresh rate up to 60Hz for 4K resolution. The chip is capable of 4K 60fps 10-bit decoding of HEVC, AVC, VP9 and AV1 video formats for video processing. It also has 4K 60fps 10-bit encoding capabilities for HEVC and AVC.

AI camera features for video calls

MediaTek added its Imagiq 1090 ISP to Dimensity CX C10 Max. The image signal processor is geared toward high-quality video calls and livestreaming as well as content creation, and offers support for as many as 32 megapixels of camera sensors.

The ISP offers such functionalities as HDR video, electronic image stabilisation and auto zoom. It also allows sustained focus and smooth zoom for videos, which may be beneficial for high-resolution camera-laptops and Googlebook devices.

Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth Connectivity

Dimensity CX C10 Max has Wi-Fi 7 support up to 7.3Gbps. This is intended for enhanced wireless download, stream and online meeting and connected workload performance.

Additionally, the chip also provides dual-engine Bluetooth 6.0 for wireless peripherals and audio devices. The actual connectivity configuration may differ with respect to the manufacturer and final product implementation.

Designed for Thin and Fanless AI Laptops

MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max also emphasizes on power efficiency. The 3nm platform would come with a feature set that will enable the manufacture of thinner and lighter computers without traditional cooling fans and with high performance.

MediaTek claims the new platform is designed to provide extended battery life in proper device configuration. Depending on battery capacity, display modes, software, workload, and/or device design, actual performance will vary.
