Vida Gains in EV Two-Wheeler Market as Hero Boosts Production
Vida has gained almost 600 basis points (6%) in terms of market share over the past year, said Chitale. The brand has also recorded a year-on-year growth of around 100 percent.
The rising demand for Vida scooters has led to an increase in production capacity. In September 2026, the company’s electric vehicle production capacity is set to increase by almost 50 percent compared with the previous month. The company will further increase its production capacity substantially by December.
Vida currently offers electric scooters with both fixed and removable battery configurations. The two options target different customer segments. While removable batteries can be a convenience for customers without convenient access to charging points, fixed battery configuration allows the company to offer a lower-priced option.
The fixed battery price differs by around ₹10,000 from the removable battery configuration, according to Hero MotoCorp.

Vida crossed the 3 lakh cumulative retail sales mark in India on August 1, 2026, according to Vahan data cited by Autocar India. The rise in sales has enabled Hero MotoCorp to strengthen its position in the electric two-wheeler segment.
