CNG Mileage Not Revealed Yet
Kia has not revealed the certified fuel-efficiency figure for the new CNG variants. The expected efficiency is around 22-25km per kg, but this should not be considered an official mileage figure until Kia announces the certified numbers.
Boot Space Reduced With CNG Tank
The factory-fitted CNG tank is placed underneath the boot. This reduces the available boot space from 216 litres to 116 litres.
The MPVs continue to get an underbody-mounted spare wheel. Kia has also made mechanical changes to accommodate the CNG system.
Kia Makes Suspension and Brake Changes
The company has retuned the suspension and upgraded the front disc brakes for the CNG versions. Kia has also recalibrated the engine for CNG operation to reduce the impact on performance.
Apart from the CNG-specific mechanical changes, the new variants retain the overall design and features of their respective petrol counterparts.

Kia Expands CNG Options in Three-Row MPV Segment
With the factory-fitted CNG versions of the Carens and Carens Clavis, Kia has added another fuel option to its three-row MPV lineup. The new models combine the practicality of a three-row vehicle with a factory-integrated CNG system.
The lower running-cost potential of CNG, along with Kia’s factory-fitted setup, could make these variants relevant to buyers who use their MPVs for family and long-distance travel. However, buyers will need to consider the reduction in boot space and the lower power and torque compared with the petrol versions.
