OPPO has officially announced its new smartphone software name, ColorOS 17. This features a new user interface, updated interaction effects, and performance enhancements on the Android 17 platform. OPPO has also announced a phased upgrade schedule, with compatible devices that will be upgraded across OPPO, OnePlus and Realme. More smartphones and tablets will get the software in October, November, and December. In the first quarter of 2027, with the first stable updates set to start on Oct 8, 2026.

ColorOS 17 Launch and Android 17 Base

ColorOS 17 is powered by Android 17 and features a new design language that emphasizes on seamless visual effects, transitions, and touch feedback. It has rolled out along with the developer conference on September 17, 2026. The new software will also be preinstalled in the Find X10 series’ first models.

The new interface keeps the same fluid animation style as the last generation, but also introduces more agile system elements. OPPO said that the design is a blend of visual effects, motion, and touch effects. The software also emphasizes on the smoothness of the interface, app launching performance, and background app retention.

The new fluid design is one of the primary features for ColorOS 17. System elements react to the user’s interaction in a more natural way, allowing for flexible animation and feedback when interacting with the system. ColorOS 17 Release Schedule

The stable rollout is scheduled to begin on October 8, 2026. The first group includes several OPPO Find models, OnePlus 15 and 15T, and Realme GT 8 Pro variants. The update will then expand to additional smartphones, tablets and wearables during the following months.

The published schedule does not mean that all users will get the update on the same day, it is the starting point of the stable version distribution. The rollout plan may also be adjusted based on the development and adaptation process.

Which OPPO, OnePlus and Realme Phones Get ColorOS 17?

Later batches are for older Find series devices, Reno 16 models, OnePlus 13-series devices, and other Realme models.

The schedule is also expanded to more generations of OPPO Find, Reno, K and Pad devices, along with the OnePlus and Realme ones in November and December. Certain devices may have different adaptation timelines and therefore availability may be based on the specific rollout schedule.

What ColorOS 17 Means for Existing Users

If you already have a compatible device, the biggest differences you’ll find are the new interface, smoother system animations, and the updated touch interactions and the Android 17 foundation. The rollout is staged, so if it is on the published schedule, it doesn’t mean that every unit will receive the update on the same day. Availability and software adaptations in the region may also impact the timing.
