Gold and silver rates were largely stable in the Indian retail market on September 26, 2026. Benchmark gold was quoted at ₹1,51,450 per 10 grams, while silver was around ₹2,35,030 per kg. City-wise retail rates showed slight variations across major markets.

Gold Silver Prices Today: City-Wise Gold Rates

The latest city-wise figures show relatively small variations in gold prices across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Chennai had the highest quoted 24K and 22K gold rates among the listed cities, while Delhi had the lowest quoted rates in the table. These figures are indicative retail rates and may differ between individual jewellers.

Silver Price Today: Check City-Wise Rates

Silver rates remained generally uniform across the major cities included in the report. The quoted rate for silver was ₹23,420 per 100 grams, equivalent to ₹2,34,200 per kg.

The benchmark and city-wise retail rates are not necessarily the same. The report put benchmark silver at ₹2,35,030 per kg, while the city-wise retail table quoted ₹2,34,200 per kg. The applicable rate can vary depending on the relevant market and seller.

MCX Gold and Silver Rates

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures were down 0.12% at ₹1,50,700 per 10 grams at the time of reporting. Silver futures were up 0.65% at around ₹2,35,000 per kg.

MCX prices represent futures-market rates and should not be directly compared with the final retail jewellery price. The price charged by a jeweller can vary depending on the applicable retail rate, making charges and other costs.

Why Gold Prices Differ Across Cities

Gold prices can vary between cities and local jewellers due to factors such as international bullion prices and changes in the USD/INR exchange rate. Local buying prices, demand and supply conditions and delivery costs can also contribute to differences in retail rates.

Gold rates also differed among the listed jewellery chains. Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoted ₹14,010 per gram for 22K gold, compared with ₹14,055 per gram at Tanishq. Malabar’s 24K gold rate was ₹15,284 per gram, while Tanishq quoted ₹15,333 per gram.
