Optimo Capital appoints Shrimohan Yadav as Independent Director

Optimo Capital independent director: Bengaluru-based non-banking finance company Optimo Capital has appointed former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Chief General Manager Shrimohan Yadav as an Independent Director on its board. Shrimohan Yadav has around 29 years of experience with the RBI, including five years as Chief General Manager in the Department of Regulation. During his tenure at the RBI, he dealt with matters related to the licensing and ownership of private sector banks, small finance banks and payments banks, along with bank acquisitions, restructuring and governance.

According to the company, as an Independent Director of Optimo Capital, Yadav will guide the board on governance, risk management and regulatory matters. He will also be part of some key Board Committees.

The company stated that Yadav is currently associated as an Independent Director with a leading small finance bank, besides several NBFCs. He is also engaged as a Senior Advisor with several firms in the financial services sector.

Optimo Capital’s Business Grew in FY26

According to information shared by the company, Optimo Capital’s AUM increased 179 percent to ₹441 crore in FY26. The company’s revenue also grew by 394 percent during the same fiscal year. During the year, the company expanded its branch network to 49 branches across five states.

The company provides loans against property to small business owners. According to Optimo Capital, all its lending is fully secured. As the company expands its business, it aims to provide more small business owners in smaller cities with access to formal credit.

Optimo Capital Founder and Managing Director Prashant Pitti said that the governance framework of the lender needs to evolve as its loan book expands. He also said that Yadav’s expertise in banking regulation and governance will be valuable for the board.
