The Vivo X500 series has three devices to choose from – the Vivo X500 and the Vivo X500 Pro and Max. All three smartphones come with a 144Hz AMOLED display, 50MP autofocus selfie camera, 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. There are however, key differences in processor, display, telephoto camera, battery capacity and RAM in the two. The Dimensity 9600 Pro is used by the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, whereas the standard X500 is powered by Dimensity 9600M.

Vivo X500 vs X500 Pro vs Pro Max: Display Differences

Vivo X500 has a 6.59” AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, HDR10+ and 4,000 nits peak brightness. The X500 Pro features a smaller 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support and up to 4,500 nits peak brightness. With the largest 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED display, the X500 Pro Max features a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, Ultra HDR support, and 1440p resolution and up to 4,400 nits peak brightness.

Processor and Performance Differences

Vivo X500 runs on a 3nm chipset, the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M. The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, on the other hand, are powered with the Dimensity 9600 Pro, which is manufactured with 2nm process technology. The Mali-G2-Ultra-NX GPU has been used on the Pro models and the ARM G1-Ultra GPU is used on the standard X500. All three smartphones have UFS 4.1 storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB. The X500 Pro Max also has a maximum of 16GB of RAM.

Camera Comparison

One of the key differences between the three models of the Vivo X500 is its camera hardware. The standard X500 is equipped with a 50MP primary camera, a 64MP 3x optical zoom telephoto camera as well as a 50MP ultrawide camera. The X500 Pro also has a 64MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and a 50MP main camera as well as 50MP ultrawide camera. The X500 Pro Max features an all-new 200MP periscope camera with a 3.5x optical zoom.

The three models have a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus. The X500 is able to capture up to 8K at 30fps for video recording and 4K at 120fps. Up to 8K at 30 fps, 4K at 240 fps, and Dolby Vision video recording are supported in the Pro & Pro Max.

Battery and Charging Compared

Also, the series shows significant differences in battery capacity. Vivo X500 has a 7,500mAh battery whereas Vivo X500 Pro has a 6,510mAh battery. The X500 Pro Max comes with the biggest battery of 8,000mAh. They all have 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. The Pro and Pro Max also have reverse wireless charging and wired reverse charging capabilities.

RAM and Storage Options

Vivo X500 will come with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. The X500 Pro also comes with up to 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The new X500 Pro Max also adds up to 16GB of RAM and supports up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. With this, the Pro Max will have more high memory configurations for intensive tasks and multitasking.

Design and Other Features

The three models of Vivo X500 are made in high quality and come with IP68 and IP69 protection. They also feature ultrasonic fingerprint scanners, stereo speakers, NFC and infrared connectivity. All three smartphones come with Android 17 and OriginOS 7.

Vivo X500 Series Price

The Vivo X500 is priced at approximately CNY 5,499 in China, the X500 Pro is priced at CNY 6,499 and the X500 Pro Max is priced at CNY 6,999. Vivo has also announced a European launch event for Oct. 27, ahead of which users will be able to pre-order the phone on the same date and purchase it Nov. 5. It is not yet guaranteed that the standard X500 will be available in Europe.
