Manish Malhotra has worked with Mijwan since 2010, incorporating chikankari created by women artisans into his contemporary couture pieces. This has helped bring the traditional embroidery from village-based craft centres to the big fashion platforms.

As per NDTV’s background report, Malhotra’s association with Mijwan began with an initiative to revive chikankari while creating livelihood opportunities for local women. It has since taken the Mijwan craftsmanship to international fashion platforms, and Malhotra’s Paris Haute Couture Week presentation in 2026.
