REDMAGIC has released a promotional image for its upcoming flagship, which will be released in October. The poster features the text “The light of esports arrives in October” and the “Born for True Gamers” tagline. It’s definitely confirming the launch month of the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ but not the date.

The upcoming smartphone will replace the REDMAGIC 11 Pro+ and is slated to offer a number of upgrades catering to gamers. But REDMAGIC hasn’t shared full details of the hardware, price or availability.

Ninth-generation under-display camera

The company’s 9th generation under display camera system is one of the confirmed technologies for the REDMAGIC 12 series. Earlier, Redmagic Gaming Phones GM Jiang Chao announced that they will be using new technology in the upcoming series.

The ninth generation system is aimed at offering a punch-hole, notch-free display. The new technology aims to enhance the concealment of cameras, the quality of the photographs captured by the front camera, as well as the quality of the overall display, says REDMAGIC. The company has been working on the under display camera for about five years, and has already released eight generations of it.

REDMAGIC has been using Under-Display Cameras since the REDMAGIC 8 Series.

For the past few generations, REDMAGIC has included cameras beneath the display on its gaming phones. It was the first introduced by the company, with the REDMAGIC 8 series, and has been further developed in later models.

For gaming smartphones, the tech lets the phone’s screen be completely punch-hole/ notch-free. This can help to create a clearer, full-screen viewing space when playing games or watching videos. Now with the REDMAGIC 12 series, the company is progressing to implementation of the ninth generation.

Few facts about the previous REDMAGIC 11 Pro Series.

The next gen REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ will succeed the REDMAGIC 11 Pro series that emphasized quite a bit on gaming performance and cooling. The previous generation had an under-display 16MP selfie camera, a 6.85-inch 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED screen and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

The REDMAGIC 11 Pro series also came with big batteries, quick wired charging, Wi-Fi 7 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Pro+ version came in up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It should be assumed that these specifications refer to the previous generation and that they are not valid for the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+.
