Hero Splendor Heads Top 10 Two-Wheelers Sales Chart in August 2026
Hero Splendor retained its position as the best-selling two-wheeler in India with sales of 3,53,842 units in August 2026. The motorcycle saw a YoY growth of 13.52% against the 3,11,698 units sold in the same period last year.
The Splendor added 42,144 units to its YoY cumulative sales and contributed 26.64% to the overall sales of top 10 two-wheelers. It helped the manufacturer maintain its position in the commuter motorcycle segment in India.
Honda Activa took the second spot with a total of 2,55,815 units sold. The scooter witnessed a YoY sales growth of 4.73% against the 2,44,271 units sold in August 2025.

Honda Shine and TVS Jupiter Cross One Lakh Sales Milestone
Honda Shine took the third spot with a total of 1,80,626 units sold in August 2026. The motorcycle recorded a 10.16% increase in sales against the 1,63,963 units sold in the same period last year.
TVS Jupiter came in at the fourth position with 1,47,450 units sold. The scooter clocked a 3.54% increase in sales against the 1,42,411 units sold in August 2025.
The first four two-wheelers in the sales list were the only ones to witness sales of over one lakh units in the given period.
Bajaj Pulsar Sales Decline in August 2026
Bajaj Pulsar came in at the fifth position with 97,839 units sold. It saw a drop in sales by 10.55% against the 1,09,382 units sold in the same period last year.
Hero HF Deluxe saw the sharpest fall in sales among the top 10 two-wheelers. Its sales dropped by 22.25% to clock in at 69,794 units against the 89,762 units sold in August 2025.

Suzuki Access took the seventh position with 69,558 units sold in August 2026. It saw a 14.39% increase in sales against the 60,807 units sold in the same period last year. The gap between it and the sixth-placed Hero HF Deluxe was just 236 units.
TVS Apache and Bajaj Chetak Register Strong Growth
TVS Apache registered a sale of 55,123 units in August 2026. It marked a 22.39% increase in sales against the 45,038 units sold in the same period last year. The growth was primarily recorded as TVS started to add variants and additional features to the Apache line.
Bajaj Chetak saw the highest increase in growth at 272.83% with a total of 52,248 units sold in the given period. It added 38,234 units to its sales recorded in August 2025.
TVS XL 100 completed the top 10 list with 45,936 units sold. It saw a marginal 4.67% growth against the 43,886 units sold in the same period last year.

India’s Domestic Two-Wheeler Sales Exceed 20 Lakh Units
India’s overall domestic two-wheeler sales in August 2026 rose to 20,34,698 units from 18,41,954 units recorded in August 2025. Sales grew by 5.78% against the 19,23,483 units sold in the previous month.
Domestic scooter sales grew by 23.76% to total 8,55,715 units with around 85% of the total volume growth recorded in the category. Motorcycles saw a YoY increase of 2.39% to total 11,33,047 units and moped sales grew by 4.67% to clock at 45,936 units. Two-wheeler exports also saw a rise of 28.53% to total 5,55,292 units in August 2026.
