The most prominent feature in the new Tata Safari EV teaser images is the three-screen setup. The system seems to feature a digital driver’s display, a large infotainment touchscreen and a smaller front passenger touchscreen.

The layout follows along the lines of the Tata Sierra EV. The Sierra’s instrument cluster is 10.25 inches digital, with a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the middle and a 12.3-inch passenger information display. The same setup may be applied to the Tata Safari EV, but the screen sizes and specifications have not yet been announced.

The passenger screen is likely to be used for entertainment, such as video streaming and gaming, while the central screen will probably be used for in-car connectivity and navigation.

Tata Safari EV Cabin Features and Equipment

Tata Safari EV will also take some luxury features from the Harrier EV, apart from the triple-screen dashboard. These could include a digital inside rear-view mirror with dash cam, a 540-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, JBL audio and Level-2 ADAS.

Auto park assistance could also be offered on the electric SUV. Tata could also enhance the Safari EV with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging facilities to enable the SUV to charge external devices or share its energy with another compatible electric vehicle.

These features are based on expectations and reports, however. The list of full equipment of the production-spec version of the Safari EV is still to be announced by Tata Motors.

Tata Safari EV Battery and Range Expectations

The Tata Safari EV is believed to have the same battery and drivetrain variants as those of the Tata Harrier EV. The Harrier EV comes in 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack sizes, along with rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive.

Expected Tata Safari EV Specifications

The 65kWh battery model in the Harrier EV boasts a claimed range of 538km. The rear-wheel-drive 75kWh model is said to achieve a range of 627km, while the all-wheel-drive version of the 75kWh model is said to attain a range of 622km.

With the same battery packs and motors, the Safari EV could achieve similar results. However, its three-row body and extra weight could impact the final certified range. Final figures for battery capacity, motor power, charging time and range will be finalised nearer to the launch.

Tata Safari EV Expected Launch Timeline

The Tata Safari EV is expected to be available for sale in India during the festive season of 2026. The current test car was heavily disguised, but it retained its SUV-like body and roof rails/roof-mounted spoiler.

Tata Motors has not yet officially announced the price and launch date for the car. The electric SUV is expected to be priced higher than the Harrier EV, likely due to its larger cabin, three-row seating and enhanced technology.

Tata Safari EV Competition

The Tata Safari EV is expected to compete with other high-end electric SUVs offering spacious interiors and advanced features. One of its main rivals is expected to be the Mahindra XEV 9S, which features three-row seating and a multi-screen dashboard.

Its familiar SUV design, practical three-row layout, Tata’s expanding EV line-up and the potential for long-range battery variants are likely to be among the Safari EV’s key highlights.
